Franklin Logsdon, Bible teacher and evangelist, says of this book: "These principles of Bible study by Dr. Edwin Hartill have been tested and proved in his own personal teaching for many years. They are succinct, pointed, practical, original, understandable -- simple keys to unlock the storehouse of Scripture to things both old and new. This publication makes a distinct contribution to Bible lovers in their search for increased knowledge of divine truth.
It is a privilege and an honor to commend it to God's people. Hartill states, "I trust that as you study these principles, your understanding of the Word and your love for its truth may deepen, so that you may more ably pass it on to others. This combination makes Meditations on Mary a spiritual powerhouse that will lift your soul to God and help you along the path to heaven.
Meditations on Mary features twenty-four of the most powerful and moving meditations written by 17th Century Bishop Jacques-Benigne Bossuet —considered to be one of the best homilists in the history of the Church.
Author of Meditations for Lent and Meditations for Advent, Bishop Bossuet has been admired for his piety and eloquence for over three hundred years.
Now his meditations on Our Lady are available to you in English — for the very first time! Although we know Our Lady serves as a perfect example of how a Christian should live and bear witness to Our Lord, Scripture contains only a few glimpses of her life, leaving our knowledge limited and our imagination wanting.
Bishop Bossuet will show you how Jesus brings honor to himself by honoring his mother, and how Our Lady is extraordinary solely because of her alliance with Jesus. Mary teaches us how to let God direct our steps, how to remain humble in commanding and obeying, and how to seek holiness through our daily work. She shows us how to pray with humility and perseverance, to advance in perfection, and, by doing all these things, to conform ourselves to the holy will of God.

Larkin was moved to author this and several other books after receiving word from his flock and fellow believers of the difficulties they had reading and interpreting such texts. The chapters are divided into the major episodes underpinning the Book of Daniel.
Events such as the dream of Nebuchadnezzer and the calamitous Fall of Babylon receive close narration, while the famous image of Daniel in the Lion's Den benefits greatly from the clarifying commentary of Larkin. This edition of Larkin's Book of Daniel includes all of the intricate charts and illustrations for which the author became famous. Several of these are very large and detailed images with large, small and tiny instances of text, and it is doubtless necessary to use a magnifying glass to fully scrutinize them.
Vital to Larkin's explanations, they set out visually the principles that this book exists to clarify for the reader. A devotional classic of the early 20th century, this book contains Larkin's investigations of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Based on his studies, Larkin concluded that the Second Coming was impending and that the events in Christianity hitherto - including the First Coming of Christ in Israel - happened in preparation for this great event.
Larkin supports his thesis with a close analysis of Biblical scripture and other sources, which he supplements with a series of illustrations and charts which pictorially demonstrate the validity of his arguments. Various recurring themes in Christianity, such as the conflict between the church and the Kingdom of God, and the natural of the spiritual world from which Christ will return, are discussed.
Clarence Larkin was a preacher and theologian who wrote a number of books which sought to explain the more obscure or mystical elements of the Holy Bible. His investigations were exhaustive, with every sentence and passage analyzed, explained and clarified for the lay Christian audience.
Most notable of all is Larkin's profound influence upon visual representations of the Bible: his self-penned charts, often large in size and intricate, were printed and circulated separately from the books in which they had been appended. As The Second Coming of Christ is one of Larkin's shorter works, it may be used as an introduction both to his style of writing, and to his unique use of charts. Readers should note that as many of the charts are very large, the small print may require use of a magnifying glass to fully absorb the annotations.
Score: 4. This stupendous book-perhaps his greatest work-is the result of more than 30 years' worth of, the author informs us, "careful and patient study of the Prophetic Scriptures. The Author has made it the work of his ministry to preach the "Fundamental Doctrines. This book contains the cream and meat of his sermons for over thirty-five years, condensed and arranged in a form that will grip and interest the reader, because of the manner of their presentation.
